Starting chiropractic care should feel clear, comfortable, and thorough. At Peak Chiropractic Health and Wellness, our goal is not simply to chase symptoms. We focus on identifying the root cause of spinal stress and nervous system interference so your body can function at its best and better adapt to the physical, chemical, and emotional stressors of daily life.
Your first visit is designed to help us understand your health history, evaluate how your spine and nervous system are functioning, and determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate for you. We want you to leave your first visit feeling informed, confident, and cared for.
At Peak Chiropractic, our job is to find and correct spinal misalignments, also known as subluxations, that may be interfering with the normal communication between the brain and the body. When the spine is not moving or functioning properly, it can place stress on the nervous system and affect how your body adapts, heals, and performs.
To evaluate whether your spine may be contributing to stress or symptoms, we use five main criteria in our office. We check movement and mobility, look for swelling or edema, use specialized instrumentation to detect areas of nerve interference, review your health history and examination findings, and when appropriate, take X-rays to get a clearer picture of the spine and its structure.
Your first visit begins with a complete health history and consultation. We want to understand what you are experiencing, how long it has been going on, what may have contributed to it, and how it is affecting your daily life. We also review your past health history, prior injuries, lifestyle factors, and any relevant stressors that may be impacting your spine and nervous system.
From there, we perform a detailed examination. This includes a spinal evaluation, a neurological evaluation, and a review of systems. Depending on your case, we may also recommend X-rays to help us better understand the structure, alignment, and condition of your spine. X-rays are taken when they will help us make a more accurate recommendation for care.
In most cases, patients receive their first adjustment on the same day as their initial visit. If your examination findings indicate that chiropractic care is appropriate, we will begin care with a specific adjustment tailored to your spine and your individual needs.
During your first visit, we are not just looking at where you hurt. We are evaluating how your spine is functioning as a whole and how that may be affecting your nervous system. Our examination helps us determine where stress is building in the spine, whether certain areas are not moving properly, and whether those findings match your symptoms, health history, and overall presentation.
This process allows us to be specific. Rather than guessing or applying a generalized approach, we want to understand exactly where the problem is and how to address it in a way that is precise and purposeful.
On your second visit, we will review any additional findings from your first appointment, answer any remaining questions, and walk you through your personalized recommendations for care. This visit is important because it gives you a clearer understanding of what we found, what it means, and what your next steps look like moving forward.
Our goal is for you to feel educated about your health and confident in your care plan. We believe patients make the best decisions when they understand what is going on and why specific care is being recommended.
Please bring any relevant health information, a list of current medications if needed, and any prior imaging or records that may be helpful. Wearing comfortable clothing can also make your examination easier. If you have questions before your appointment, our team will be happy to help guide you.
At Peak Chiropractic, we believe your first visit should be more than a quick consultation. It should be a thorough and meaningful starting point that helps uncover the cause of stress on your spine and nervous system. Whether you are coming in for back pain, headaches, neck pain, sciatica, posture concerns, or simply wanting to function at a higher level, our goal is to provide specific, results-driven chiropractic care that meets you where you are.
